Leadership in education is about much more than superintendents and ministers, and the leadership roles of principals, assistant principals, teachers and students in shaping how school works is often neglected. In this session, Dr. Peter Senge and Dr. Mette Boell share a basic framework of three core leadership capacities critical to shaping more generative school cultures regardless of one’s formal role. Participants then practice with a basic tool, the shifting the burden systems archetype, that can help us grow as leaders who help people to explore the forces that often drive organizations to focus on quick fixes rather than more fundamental changes and to better understand and shift those forces.Topics: Science of Learning and Cognition Mindset Pedagogical Strategies
