Description

Against the historical and regulatory backdrop of teacher education and development in the Philippines, this session will illustrate how the National Teachers College is responding uniquely to the need of establishing a culture of agency among pre-service and in-service teachers. Our training approach is informed by outcomes-driven learning experience design, as well as employability-oriented delivery and assessment.

This approach emphasizes making the experience fun and frustration-free, even for under-resourced teachers. During this session, we will also discuss how to use this framework to sustain engagement for sustainability and scalability, taking into account remote learning conditions during the pandemic and hopefully, even beyond.

This session is part of our new Teacher Education and Professional Development Webinar Series, where J-WEL members and the MIT community will come together to share their approaches to professional development for teachers.
