Curious about teaching with OER? Wondering how to get started? In this webinar, designed for faculty just beginning to explore teaching with open educational resources, we’ll cover all the basics: what OER are, why faculty use them, tips for finding them, and how to evaluate them. We’ll demystify the Creative Commons license and answer all your questions about retaining, reusing, and remixing OER. We’ll also have an experienced professor on the panel to share how she got started with OER, where the journey has taken her, and tips for wayfinding.

This webinar is free and open to the public.

Event Speakers

Sarah Hansen

Senior Manager of Open Educator & Strategic Initiatives
MIT OpenCourseWare

Sarah Hansen shares open educational resources (OER) with a global audience of educators through MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW). The best part of her work is interviewing MIT faculty about how they teach. She shares their stories widely through publications on the OCW website and on Chalk Radio, the OCW podcast she hosts. Sarah holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Minnesota, where her scholarship focused on equity issues in education.
