J-WEL Weeks will create a global community of educational leaders, through sharing of knowledge and ideas.

The three J-WEL Collaboratives—pK-12, Higher Education, and Workplace Learning—will share initial sessions, including “Essence of MIT Education,” “How MIT Works,” a powerful “MIT Success Story,” and an analysis of the “Science of Learning.”

Members of each Collaborative will then convene separately for relevant presentations, research briefs, hands-on exercises, panels, and workshops. Throughout the program, in collaboration with MIT faculty and staff, members are challenged to define their key goals and mechanisms for implementation.

Speakers Include:

  • Martin Culpepper, Professor, Mechanical Engineering, MIT

  • Robert Langer, David H. Koch Institute Professor, MIT

  • Mitchel Resnick, LEGO Papert Professor of Learning Research, MIT Media Lab

  • Laura Schulz, Class of 1943 Career Development Associate Professor of Cognitive Science, MIT

  • Peter Senge, Senior Lecturer, Sloan School of Management, MIT

  • Emma Teng, T.T. and Wei Fong Chao Professor of Asian Civilizations, MIT

  • Karen Willcox, Professor, Aeronautics & Astronautics, MIT
