Musical Instruments

Hi all, I loved seeing all your wonderful instruments yesterday. As you continue working on your instruments and composing your masterpieces, I just wanted to give some pointers for places to look if you feel stuck.
  1. What range of sounds do you want your instrument to make? How does it make them? Does it make different notes, and if so, how?

  2. If your instrument doesn't really make different notes, could you make variants that play different notes?

  3. What's vibrating in your instrument? Could you make a similar mechanism out of different parts? How would it be different?

Remember to stop by for the first check-in and show your progress. Remember, it doesn't have to be perfect or even good. A big part of the process is iteration. If something doesn't work, don't be shy to ask for help or try something else!

Musical Instruments

Hi guys, hope you all had a fantastic weekend. This week, we'll be learning more about musical instruments and how they make, well, music! In class, we'll explore the different kinds of musical instruments and how they make the wide range of sounds that make up a melody.
