Workshop Description
This workshop explores remote and hybrid learning best practices and solutions for community learning centers that serve refugee and other under-represented populations.   The goal of this workshop is to identify digital learning solutions for community learning centers, schools, and institutions that face challenges to traditional online learning, particularly issues around the need for light bandwidth solutions, uneven internet connectivity and access to digital devices. The Whitaker Peace Development Initiative will present a design challenge from their Community Learning Center in the Kiryandongo Settlement in Uganda. Workshop participants will be invited to ideate around hybrid learning solutions for this design challenge, as well as to share and document best practices and resources that can empower community learning centers in their digitization efforts.
