Higher Education @ J-WEL

Higher Education @ J-WEL is building a community of global leaders that will transform higher education for success of students across the globe.

Higher Education has immense power: giving students access to knowledge that uncovers their talents, developing competencies preparatory for meaningful careers, and promoting responsible leadership in society. MIT education is uniquely powerful through its combination of a problem-solving focus, an entrepreneurial culture, hands-on learning, and its incorporation of digital tools.

Higher Education @ J-WEL has a visionary, and outcome-driven approach. MIT/J-WEL members address their most ambitious goals through customized collaborations with MIT faculty and staff. The outcomes are redesigned education systems, new curriculum, improved teaching and learning modalities, development of top faculty and high impact research, and students who are confident and empowered problem solvers.

Led by Faculty Director Prof. Hazel Sive, Senior Manager Julia Reynolds-Cuellar and a distinguished MIT Advisory Group, Higher Education @ J-WEL convenes a select group of global colleagues at MIT to address their educational challenges, and to form a leadership group in Higher Education.

J-WEL Weeks

J-WEL Weeks are signature, goal-oriented programs that provide members with first-hand access to MIT’s educational resources and practice.

  • J-WEL Weeks are led by Hazel Sive, Director of Higher Education @ J-WEL.
  • Two distinct J-WEL Weeks are run per year, each thematic, and comprising multiple modules.
  • Each week is goal-oriented. Throughout each week, participants incrementally formulate goals and implementation plans relevant to their educational challenges.
