How to Make Every Grade More Like Kindergarten

National Public Radio recently interviewed MIT Professor Mitchel Resnick about the release of his new book Lifelong Kindergarten: Cultivating Creativity though Projects, Passion, Peers and Play.

Dr. Resnick is the head of the MIT Media Lab’s Lifelong Kindergarten group, where among other projects leads the development of the simplified programing language and social platform Scratch.  In the interview, Dr. Resnick, describes his motivation for the book:

Increasingly people are coming to recognize that there are real challenges in our current educational system. It’s pretty well understood that society is changing in fundamental ways and education isn’t well aligned with the needs of a fast-changing society. But people aren’t really sure what to do about it.

Dr. Resnick will be discussing MIT’s approach to pK-12 curriculum at our upcoming J-WEL Week.
