Here is how J-WEL is supporting educators and learners in this time of crisis and beyond:
- Convening our global community online through J-WEL Connections
Starting April 2020, the Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL) has hosted J-WEL Connections, a month-long exploration of the frontiers of educational transformation worldwide with our members, held in April and Ocober. This event covers how new knowledge about teaching and learning and innovative educational technologies are being employed to address the impacts of COVID-19. J-WEL Connections includes both synchronous and asynchronous events and is designed specifically to provide accessible and engaging activities regardless of participant bandwidth or availability. More than 280 participants from around the world participate in dozens of sessions and activities during each event.
- Providing online resources for teachers and learners through Full STEAM Ahead
MIT Full STEAM Ahead is a collection of resources that MIT is putting together for teaching and learning online. These are meant as a rapid response to the need for online resources during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Full STEAM Ahead team curates existing resources for K-12, higher education, and workforce learners. The team also provides a weekly package of relevant materials for K-12 students and teachers.
- Sharing effective practices through our COVID-19 Response & Resources collection
Our COVID-19 Response & Resources collection includes webinars by the J-WEL and MIT communities, reports, datasets, and other resources to help educators and learners adapt to the new world of learning brought on by the global pandemic. We'll continue to add resources to this collection as we develop and identify them. If you have any comments about this collection, or if you know of resources that you think would add to its value, please feel welcome to email us.
