Kirky DeLong has over 20 years of experience in the development of learning technologies, online laboratories, and open-source projects. During her time at MIT, she has worked on many projects involving a broad range of technologies, including the MIT iLab Project, which developed online laboratories that enable students to access real instruments online that can be shared around the world; the MIT-Haiti Project, which promotes teacher professional development through active learning and Kreyòl language in STEM disciplines; and the Connected Learning Initiative (CLIx) project, which aims to improve the professional and academic prospects of high schools students from underserved communities in India.
